Slow Horses Prequel Series About Jackson Lamb Gets Candid Response From Creator

The first trailer for The Last of Us season 2 has been released. The HBO series took the world by storm when it was released at the beginning of 2023. Featuring the leading duo of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, it's based on the Naughty Dog produced video game of the same name. The video game had a 2020 sequel, The Last of Us: Part II, which the TV series will work to adapt in the subsequent installments. The Last of Us season 2 features new actors, including Kaitlyn Dever, Young Mazino, Isabela Merced, and Jeffrey Wright.
Now, Max has released the first teaser trailer for The Last of Us season 2. The trailer opens with Joel speaking to Catherine O'Hara's character, who appears to be a therapist. The scene then cuts to reveal Ellie in Jackson, Wyoming, where Joel's brother and his wife had taken refuge to be safe from the infected. Joel and Ellie are seen living in some peace, as she plays guitar and meets the new character Dina. Things in Jackson soon devolve as what was once a safe city is now being attacked by the infected.
What This Trailer Says About The Last of Us Season 2
The Last Of Us Season 2 Release Date Has Not Been Revealed
The therapy device is an interesting way to frame season 2, as it immediately shows Joel confronting one of the most pressing elements going into the next season. This happens to regard the fallout from The Last of Us season 1's ending, wherein Joel lies to Ellie about what really happened with the Fireflies. The season 2 trailer immediately sees this therapist figure questioning Joel about what he really did, laying the groundwork for the events of season 2.
The Last of Us season 2 faced delays due to the Hollywood writers and actors' strikes in 2023.
The season 2 trailer ends by mentioning that the sophomore season is slated for 2025, though it does not specify a release date. However, updates from the creative team and HBO have teased that the show would premiere before the Emmy eligibility deadline. If it follows the same release pattern, The Last of Us season 2 could be arriving as early as January, which means that the premiere of the season could be less than four months away.
Our Take On The Last of Us Season 2 Trailer
The Trailer Features Several Enticing Elements

The element that excites me most about the season 2 trailer is the presence of music. The trailer is set to the tune of Pearl Jam's "Future Days" but features many shots of Joel and Ellie playing guitar. Music was pivotal in the acclaimed The Last of Us episode "A Long, Long Time," so its prevalence could be a great decision. The new footage for The Last of Us season 2 also previews new characters like Dina and Abby, which leaves plenty of mystery going into the second season.
